Another Record Icon South Beach Condo Sale


Icon South BeachThe recent sale of Penthouse No. 2 in Icon South Beach sets several records for condo sales in this building and shows continued strength in Miami Beach’s luxury real estate market.

MLS records show that Penthouse No. 2 sold on January 1, 2013* for $20,963,054, or $2,623 per square foot.  This represents the highest dollar value transaction in Miami Beach’s real estate market for 2013, as well as the highest dollar value and price per square foot ever in the building.  This is impressive, considering that the condo was purchased during the height of Miami Beach’s infamous condo boom for $7,000,000; or $875 per square foot.

Measuring 7,996 square feet, Icon South Beach Penthouse No. 2 has its own rooftop pool, wrap-around 270 degree views of Miami and Miami Beach, double high ceilings, a “breakfast great room” and tremendous finishes.  Further, since the property sold for $1,963,054 more than its asking price, I would presume that it was purchased in its fully furnished condition.

The Icon South Beach is no stranger to high sales prices per square foot.  In November, 2012 and December, 2012, Units 1201 and 1501 sold for $1,259 and $1,306 per square foot, respectively.  Each of these were record prices per square foot for an Icon South Beach Condo at the time.
